Photos taken at Mazengarb Park during Handicap Race 1

Saturday 9 April saw the first of the club handicap races at Mazengarb Park. The rain, which had been falling for most of the afternoon, stopped a few minutes before the races began, and conditions at the scenic Mazengarb course were very pleasant. Soft ground, mild weather, no wind.

While Handicapper John Hammond did his best to assess the abilities of the club runners, the race proved to be extremely tactical. Pushing, shoving, holding, tripping and standing in front of other runners ensured the senior and vets competitions remained wide open at the end of the day.
