Report on the
2005 Champs at Nelson from Julie Carson
Run on Rabbit Island on
6th August - on a really warm day the Kapiti Harriers had 12 members
competing. There were U14 & U12 non championship races, and Katie & Ben
James, Alice & Kate Forster, Erin & Keegan McCauley and Mathew Pavitt all
ran. A fabulous turnout from our younger members.
Paul Forster, Hamish
Carson, Alan McCauley, Suzi Richards and Maurice Piper were all selected to
represent the Wellington Region at the Championships. Hamish was 7th in the
Under 20 Men and he and his Wgtn region team mates took first place medals in
the team placings.
Paul was 4th in the
Masters Men 45 - 49
Alan was 9th in the
Masters Men 45 - 49
Maurice was 9th in the
Masters Men 55 -60
Suzi was injured and dnf.
The Wgtn Region Senior
Mens team also picked up a gold.
A great trip, made even
better by the wonderful support all our members gave each other during their
races
