NZ Secondary Schools Track & Field Champs, Newtown Pk, Dec 10 & 11
1500 of the top school track & field athletes gathered at Newtown Pk last weekend. Two club members I noticed were Monique Robinson (12.54.61 in the Junior Girls 3000m) and Connor Plumley (4.30.48 in the Senior Boys 1500m). I'm sure these two were inspired by mixing with the best in NZ. Good on them for giving it a go.
Results of Race 1 in the summer 5K series are to the left. Great turnout of runners with plenty of new and old faces. Looks like the women gave the men something to think about for the next race on December 19. Thanks to all officials and to the Waikanae Hotel for providing the meal vouchers as prizes. A Stirling Sports $100 voucher will be give away at race 3 in January
Three Kapiti Harriers competed in the Pelorus Half in Wellington in cold and wet conditions on Sunday.
Jan-Maree Brown 1.56.11
Harold Robinson 2.07.39
John Hammond 2.08.13
Results are up for the 2011 Club Cross Country Championships. Congratulations to all winners and well done to everyone who took part on yet another new waikane Park course designed by Bruce. Malcolm's GPS had the 2KM lap a bit longer than that. The sealed handicap results for the men have yet to be sorted out.

An outstanding day on June 19 at Waikanae Park for the NZ Secondary School Cross Country Champs. A huge thank you to everyone who helped out on the day and in the days leading up to the event. Thanks also to the centre officials who filled some of the key positions on the day.
