Handicap Race 2, Mazengarb Park.

More close racing in the second handicap of the season. Another win for Monique in the intermediate girls, just pipping Sarah on the line to win by 1 second with a fast finishing Holly only 3 seconds behind in 3rd. Another close one in the intermediate boys, Ballad ( with broken arm in cast ) just getting ahead of Lewis and Lachy, only 11 seconds separating the first 3. Connor seems to be back up to speed ( handicap review ) and took out the senior boys from Mitchell and Ruaan. Gael Andrews is running well and crossed the line 1st in the womens race, the silver went to Clare Gold ( small pun ) and Kate 3rd.
Its been a while since we saw Maurice Piper at the front of the field but once he took over the lead from Tony, he never looked back. Derek ran well for 2nd and Andy couldnt quite run through the whole field but did get up to 3rd after starting last. Only 44 seconds separating the first six finishers in the mens race. Congratulations to all that ran. The handicap races take a break until September but there are plenty of other events between now and then, keep up the training.
PS. Two people missed their start times, they would have finished 1st and 2nd in their respective races.
